Street Beacon by Jon Buck at John Street, Porthcawl
The Street Beacon sculpture by Jon Buck in John Street, Porthcawl, outside Thresher’s store.
It was designed and unveiled in 1995, commissioned by Ogwr Borough Council and Mid Glamorgan County Council.
Cast in bronze at approximately 265 cm in height.
The sculpture identifies a series of icons representing the town of Porthcawl and its characters including a seagull, fish, ice cream cone, navigational aid, and a dockside bollard.
