Welsh Chapel in the Jungle

Posted on September 15th, 2007 filed in Chapel & Church, History, Photos

Shame of shame… these are photos of an old Welsh Chapel in Aberdare.

Hen Dy Cwrdd chapel, in the village of Trecynon near Aberdare is the oldest Chapel in Aberdare.

The place seems to have been left to rot.

The graveyard and Chapel grounds are full of Japanese Knotweed - it’s like a Jungle !

The outer perimeter walls are cracking.

The front gate rusts and remains unsecured.

The Chapel door is rotting and opened.

Who is responsible for the maintenance of this site of special interest ?
